Conference ‘De praktijk van het burgerberaad’

On Thursday 1 September, the G1000 University in Amersfoort will organize a conference on the practice of citizen deliberation (in Dutch). With introductions and workshops by Eva Rovers, Annette Nobuntu Mul and Floor Milikowski in the morning and an interactive inspiration carousel in the afternoon. Many ongoing Citizen’s Councils are discussed there. More information about the conference can be found here.

Hybrid democratic innovations – which are central to the REDRESS project – are also discussed. On behalf of More Democracy Niesco Dubbelboer discusses how a referendum can strengthen a citizen deliberation through the so-called preferendum.
